Fresh Picked Posies

Here it is, my first Fresh Picked Posies block from Piece 'O Cake.  I finally finished it.  I have been carrying it around to different places working on it a little at a time for months.  Last week I left it open on my sewing table and kept working on it until I finished it Friday night.

These blocks are bigger than the Whimsical Garden blocks.  They both have the same feel:  bright, cheerful, and happy, happy, happy.

Yesterday I went to our monthly LAFS meeting.  I am teaching a beginning quilt class for any new, or not so new, members.  While at LAFS I took the opportunity to use the big tables at the church and trim the edges of a big quilt.  At home we do not have any tables very big, or square or rectangular shaped.  Our dining table is round.  I have trimmed quilts on our table, but not easily.  I only do smaller quilts at home.  It feels good to be able to start applying the binding on that big quilt.  It will take me some time to do the hand stitching part, but when it is done I will be so happy.

Hope you all have a good week ahead.  Be safe and sound.

Happy Quilting

Pretty Pincushion

Some friends and I purchased pincushion kits at a Sewing Expo last year.  I finally finished mine last week.  I so much enjoyed sewing the embroidery and adding the beads on this project.  It is a small project so I was able to complete it fairly quickly.  I like instant gratification.  This was not exactly instant, but it was completed in a fairly short amount of time.
