The binding on this quilt is finally finished. I wanted to have a picture of this quilt posted this month. It is a pattern I found in the magazine BLOCK from Missouri Star Quilt Company. This pattern was also published in one of the Quilting Quickly Magazines. It was called Log Cabin Flying Geese. This pattern was an easy one to sew, if you remembered to sew the flying geese triangle on each of the proper rows. I forgot a couple of times and needed to do some unsewing!
The fabric line I used was Stonehenge. I started with a Jelly Roll, then I used some 5 inch charm squares gifted to me from a friend. I was lucky to receive the charm squares because I did not have enough of the strips from the Jelly Roll to finish the last few blocks. I cut a couple of the strips wrong, and it made a difference in the finish. If not for the charm squares I would have needed to find some compatible fabric to use as I think this particular design line was discontinued.
We have had so much rain in our area recently. I believe we have reached our normal annual rain fall just in the last few weeks. I know several areas in the Bay Area have flooded and folks have had to evacuate to drier ground.
